Parking
Verizon Center has its own parking garage located on 6th Street NW
underneath the building and is only open for concerts at a charge
of $25 for event parking. The garage is not open for public parking
for Washington Wizards or Washington Capitals games, with the only
exception being for persons with disabilities. The garage opens 1
½ hours before game/show time and closes 1 hour after the conclusion
of the game or event. Maximum clearance for the Verizon Center garage
is 6'8".
In instances where the Verizon Center garage is closed to the general
public for events, there are several public parking garages near
the building that would be viable options: Gallery Place parking
garage on 6th Street NW; the public garage next door to Rosa Mexicano
restaurant on F Street NW; and the public garage located near 7th
and I Streets NW. There are at least 10,000 parking spaces located
within several blocks of the arena.
*Please note: The parking lot located over at the
old convention center site (marked by 9th, 11th, H Street and New
York Ave NW), now known as CityCenterDC, will no longer be available
for public parking for events and games starting on March 21, 2011.
The general contractor for the CityCenterDC project has been given
notice to proceed on the project. For additional information on
the CityCenterDC project please feel free to visit www.citycenterdc.com.
