How can I purchase tickets to an event or game at Verizon Center?
Verizon Center is a Ticketmaster building so all tickets to all
events can be purchased either through our box office or any other
Ticketmaster outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.com or via phone
at (202) 397-SEAT, (703) 573-SEAT or (410) 547-SEAT.
How do I know if an artist will be performing at Verizon Center
and when tickets are going to go on sale?
Shows are posted on our website as soon as all of the information
is confirmed for a show including ticket prices and when tickets
are going on sale. Another way to see where an artist will be performing
on their tour is www.pollstar.com.
At what age are you required to have a ticket to an event at
Verizon Center?
Children 3 years and older require tickets to all basketball and
hockey games. For Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus
and Disney on Ice events, children 2 years and older require a ticket,
and for The Wiggles, children 1 year and older need a ticket.
How long do concerts normally last?
Most concerts last about 2 ½-3 hours in length not including
any intermissions or set changes, and usually let out by 11pm at
the latest.
How long do family shows like the circus and Disney on Ice last?
Most family shows last about 1 ½-2 hours and normally have
an intermission.
When do doors open for an event at Verizon Center?
Doors open an hour before show time or game time.
Are cameras allowed into the building?
Still cameras are allowed for all basketball and hockey games. For
concerts, the camera policy varies from show to show, however, video
cameras and recorders are not allowed for any concerts.
Can I bring in my own food and beverages?
Outside food and beverages are not allowed to be brought into the
arena for any event. We encourage patrons to visit one of the many
restaurant options available in the surrounding area prior to attending
an event or visit one of our concession stands offering a variety
of food options during an event.
Can I bring a stroller?
Yes you can bring a stroller with you to the arena, however it will
need to be checked in with our Guest Services staff prior to going
to your seats. Please go to the Guest Services area outside of Section
102 and our staff will direct you to the area where strollers can
be checked in. Upon completion of the event, you can then pick up
your stroller.
Is smoking allowed in the building?
Smoking is not allowed inside Verizon Center. We are a smoke-free
facility. If you would like to smoke while attending an event at
the arena, we will allow you to exit after the event starts from
almost any exit. Upon exiting you must get your hand stamped
and then re-enter the arena through the main entrance on F Street
NW.
Where can you park if driving to an event at Verizon Center?
Verizon Center has its own parking garage located on 6th Street
NW underneath the building and is only open for concerts at a charge
of $25 for event parking. The garage is not open for public parking
for Washington Wizards or Washington Capitals games, with the only
exception being for persons with disabilities. The garage opens
1 ½ hours before game/show time and closes 1 hour after the conclusion
of the game or event. Maximum clearance for the Verizon Center garage
is 6'8".
In instances where the Verizon Center garage is closed to the general
public for events, there are several public parking garages near
the building that would be viable options: Gallery Place parking
garage on 6th Street NW; the public garage next door to Rosa Mexicano
restaurant on F Street NW; and the public garage located near 7th
and I Streets NW. There are at least 10,000 parking spaces located
within several blocks of the arena.
What’s the closest Metro stop to Verizon Center?
The Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop on the redline drops you
off right at the arena. Additional Metro stops within a few blocks
include Navy-Archives, Metro Center and Judiciary Square.
Where is the box office/will call located? What are the hours
of operation?
The main box office and will call windows are located at F Street
NW. The box office is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m. and closed on non-event Sundays. On the day of an event,
the box office will stay open until about 1 1/2 hours after the
show starts. Will Call opens 1 1/2 hours before the show starts
or you can pick up your tickets during regular box office hours.
Where are the entrances to Verizon Center?
There are two entrances to the building, the main entrance is on
F Street NW and the second entrance is located at 7th and G Streets
NW, by the Gallery Place movie theatres.
Where do they set up the stage for concerts?
Most concerts are set up in an end stage format in which case the
stage is located on the West end of the building, where the Acela
Club restaurant is located. If the concert is in the round or center
stage, then the stage will be in the middle of the floor. The seating
charts provided on the website provide a general idea of the different
seating arrangements for an end stage and center stage event.
Where is seat No. 1 located in each row/section of the arena?
How many seats are in a row and how many rows are in each section?
If you are seated in the section and looking at the floor, seat
No. 1 will be to the left hand side of that row. The same is true
of sections on the floor – if you are seated in the section
and facing the stage, seat No. 1 is to the left hand side. (i.e.
Seat No. 1 in section 200 is closest to section 229, and seat No.
1 in section 110 is closest to section 109.) The number of seats
in each row and the number of rows in each section varies according
to the capacity of the event.
For Wizards games, where are the box seats located?
The box seats for the Wizards games are located behind the baskets.
If you have a ticket in Box E, you’re behind the basket on
the East end of the building. If you have a ticket in Box W, you’re
behind the basket on the West end of the building.
How can I request auction items or donations from the Washington
Wizards, Washington Capitals or Washington Mystics?
To request an item for your auction or fundraising event from the
Washington Wizards please send in letter of request on company letterhead
4-6 weeks in advance of your event and send it to the attention
of the Wizards Community Relations department. Visit www.washingtonwizards.com

For the Washington Capitals and Washington Mystics, requests also
must be made on company letterhead and sent in 6 weeks in advance

How can I get a backstage pass for a concert?
Unfortunately, backstage passes are not something for which you can make a request. Backstage passes are issued by the representatives of the performers just like any invitations to any private function.
It's my anniversary and/or my birthday and I'd like to have
an announcement made at a concert or put up on the scoreboard during
a hockey or basketball game?
For concerts, special announcements are not possible as the PA system
is used strictly for announcements pertaining to the show. Any telescreens
that are used during a show are also brought in by the individual
tours and are pre-programmed for content pertaining to the show.
The Verizon Center scoreboard is generally not used during concerts.
For hockey games, a $25 donation to Washington Capitals charities
is required and at least 48 hours notice must be given. Contact
Guest Services at 202-266-2350 or guestservices@washcaps.com. For
basketball games, a $50 donation to Wizards Care Charities is required.
Please
fill out the online request form and submit it by 12noon the day
before the game that the message is being requested for. Messages
will appear during halftime on scoreboard. Please contact Customer

Do you have accessible seating in all levels of the arena? What
do I do if I need a sign language interpreter or have already purchased
tickets to an event and now need special assistance in getting to
my seats?
Yes, we do have accessible seating available in all levels of the
arena. Please contact our Accessible Seating department for assistance
in requesting an interpreter as soon as an event goes on sale. Our
Accessible Seating department can also assist you in getting you
to your seats by calling them at 202-661-5065. Please allow at least
24-48 hours for them to return your call.
Is there a Designated Driver program at Verizon Center? Yes,
the main concessionaire, Aramark, provides free soda to those who
sign up as a Designated Driver by the cart located near section
107. A cup is provided whereby the Designated Driver can then go
to a concession stand to obtain the free soda.
