Verizon Center Security
Fans are encouraged to arrive early as Verizon Center has instituted
a standard security policy for all events held at the arena. Patrons
will be subject to search and possible hand held metal detectors.
All bags, briefcases, book bags or items similar in nature will
be searched as patrons enter the arena. Each patron attending events
will be allowed one personal item that falls within the following
size constraints: no longer than 13 inches, taller than nine and
a half inches and wider than six inches. Items that do not fit within
these size limitations may not be allowed in the arena at the discretion
of security personnel..
Verizon Center consults with local law enforcement agencies on
a continual basis. Some of the security measures in place will be
apparent to patrons and some will remain unseen and undisclosed.
Food & Beverage Policy: Fans and patrons are not allowed to bring in outside food and beverages for any games, concerts or events
IN ADDITION:
All media and others with access to restricted areas will be required
to produce a photo ID, and all bags and equipment will be subjected
to inspection.
All media must enter through the Press Gate located at 6th and
G Streets NW. If parking in the Verizon Center garage, members of
the media should exit the building through the elevators in the
middle of the garage and enter through the media entrance.
CAMERA POLICY
Handheld cameras are allowed for basketball and hockey games.
Special events, concerts, and family shows each have their own
camera policy that is decided prior to the event. Video cameras
and camcorders are not allowed for any concerts or special events.
